What to expect

Ever thought about surfing down a volcano? Welcome to the world of volcano boarding in Nicaragua! It’s as crazy as it sounds. You'll be strapping on a board and racing down the side of Cerro Negro, an active volcano that reaches an impressive 728 meters. This isn’t your average surf session—it’s a wild ride down a mountain of volcanic ash, with the thrill of adrenaline as you zoom down the slopes. Trust us, it’s not something you’ll forget.

Before you hit the slopes, your guide will share some fascinating facts about the volcano’s history. Cerro Negro erupted for the first time in 1850 and has had regular eruptions ever since. The landscape here is as rugged as it gets, with the black, ash-covered hills surrounding you like something out of a sci-fi movie. But don't worry, the terrain is safe for those ready to embrace the adventure.

Once you’re at the top, get ready to feel the wind in your hair and the earth beneath you as you launch yourself down the volcano.
